Job Description

On behalf of our client in the food manufacturing field, we are looking for a Site Engineering Manager.

 


  • Lead the manufacturing units engineering activities to establish and maintain safe, compliant and effective engineering operations that continually develop the units asset base to meet near and medium term business objectives.

  • Develop and lead investment plans based on asset capability, capacity and commercial strategy
  • Continuously develop and improve the site asset base through effective design, construction and installation of good manufacturing processes
  • Drive the engineering function to provide good manufacturing processes that comply with both Food Safety and Health and Safety Standards
  • Devise and deploy an engineering strategy which supports the manufacturing units strategic goals and is compliant with all company and legislative standards
  • Provide leadership and direction to ensure that people are kept safe, engaged, focused, developed and delivering their potential
  • Proactively contribute to product development through the application of best available technology and automation to create efficient and sustainable manufacturing process
  • Contribute to the Manufacturing/Business Unit executive team to ensure engineering solutions support delivery of the business plans
  • Drive year on year improvements to deliver enhanced engineering standards aligned with manufacturing unit objectives
  • Share engineering best practice within the Engineering forum to promote the exchange of learning and identify improvements for the Manufacturing Unit
  • Promote the sustainability agenda across the engineering community to reduce environmental impact

  • HND/Degree or equivalent calibre/Member of recognised professional body – IET/Mech E, ICT/Institute of Mechanical Engineering
  • NEBOSH Certified
  • Proven track record of leading an Engineering department
  • Legionella L8
  • Experience of creating a Lean enterprise culture
  • Computer literate with working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)
  • Project Management
  • Yellow belt certified in Lean Six Sigma or higher
